This post is directed mostly at Facebook users because so many MBN members also use Facebook. And, because Facebook can be a great way to get information out to many people.

When I first started Maine Biker Network I was really just planning on a website that listed different events that were happening. Things like charity rides and bike nights. Then I thought it would be cool to list all the local motorcycle related businesses we have in Maine.

Then reality struck.

I soon realized that I could never get all that information and list it, all by myself. At the time Myspace was big and facebook was just starting to get really popular. Not something I used much, but I did see the potential of how something similar could be used to share lots of information.

I thought it would be a good thing for people to share what was happening, and where to get their bikes fixed, etc. to ALL the motorcycle riders in Maine. Not just to our circle of friends.

And now this has become my passion:

Bikers helping Bikers. That is the root mission of MBN. Together we have tons of good stuff to share. And Maine Biker network has become THE central place online to get updated about motorcycle related issues.

But we are still at a point where the majority of riders in Maine have still not heard of MBN. Maybe I am being selfish but I believe more people should know about MBN and the information we have available.

And this is where facebook users can certainly help. Just about every place you look on MBN there is is a share button. Or a like button. If you see a discussion, post, photo or something else here on Maine Biker Network you find interesting please use those to share with your Facebook friends.

As you do this more and more people, your friends and fellow riders, will discover Maine Biker Network and make this an even better place.
