Yes, bikers can keep doing good events for charity and try to show the public that we are after all decent human beings. But, bikers are "different" from the norm. We intimidate them by being different.
We also have a minority segment of bikers that try to scare and intimidate people. This certain group will leave a lasting impression on the public, ie. loud pipes, speeding, etc., and this will be what all bikers have as a legacy to live down. I personally don't believe that this will change much. Our collectiveness is compromised by the individual. This, however, is the biker mentality in most cases. My 2cents worth.

Since I'm already on this site, I thought I would take this oppurtunity to encourage you all to
GET ON THE BANDWAGON. This Charity was introduced to us by Stoney Dionne at his afterparty for his 29th. Annual Lobster Run. Go to ridinsteel.com to learn the details. We've put together a Board which consist of myself, Erica McIver, Bob Dionne, Dick Dionne, Patti Labbe , Rick Lewis, Rocky & Dawn Rivard, Bob & Kristen Walton. Together, we have taken on the responsibility of raising funds for helping folks diagnosed with cancer to perhaps receive a 2nd opinion, fuel, food and whatever to help them through this very difficult situation. When Stoney was diagnosed, he was desperately trying to seek every available option and his insurance was'nt co-operating. As he stated, " This thing hit me hard & fast and you don't have time to screw around", so GET ON THE BANDWAGON NOW! was started.
In Stoney's words THE BANDWAGON was started to "cut the shit and cut a check". We had a Christmas Party & Thanksgiving Dinner so far to raise funds and manage to collect about $450.00. So we're off and running. We're looking for help with this. Anyone wishing to make a donation can make acheck payable to THE BANDWAGON and mail it to:
REALITY PRODUCTIONS
80 Bedford Street
Bath, Maine. 04530
I assure you all, that there are NO administrative cost, ALL the funds will go to assist those folks that need our help and perhaps more importantly our hope!

Thank you

Thanks for the welcome and for being such a dedicated fan of RIDIN' STEEL. It's encouraging to hear that folks like yourself are watching the show. It's makes it all worthwhile. We're looking to hilight Bike Runs this coming season, so please pass the word out to Run organizers you may know to contact me a.s.a.p so that we can lock them in. I can be reached at steve @ridinsteel.com or reality-productions@hotmail.com or by phone 504-1631. We're committed to keeping this show on and we need your support, so thank you for watching but more importantly, thank you for taking the time to write me.
I've met Jeff Neil on many occasions, He manages to attend many of the rides I've been on this past year. The Maine Biker Network is growing in popularity and I believe RIDIN' STEEL is as well. Together, we can help to better organize the Bikers that "ride for a cause". Please be sure to introduce yourself if we're ever on the same run.
Respectfully:
Steve

Welcome to the Maine Biker Network Steve. Glad to have you here - for you, not just your connection to Ridin' Steel!

Feel free to join the discussions, add events and photos and use it to connect with old friends while making a few new along the way.

If you ever need volunteers or to connect with people from all around the state you'll find this site is growing and a great resource. It's a great site especially for winter entertainment while waiting to ride!

I too am no stranger to your show (have it set to record automatically so I don't miss a one!) Take Care.

Hi Jeff and thanks for the welcome. This Sunday December 20th. at 11am on WPME, RIDIN' STEEL will be airing the RIDE & ROCK RUN. This run was organized by Mike Paul and covered 3 different benefits. It was a beautiful day and the bikers did an outstanding job raising money for the Saco Food Bank, Open Heart - Open Hands and also helped out Nikki's Kids. The latter being a mom who lost her life due to a motorcycle accident, leaving 3 beautiful children behind. I hope you all enjoy the show.

We haven't ironed out the details yet, but I will keep you informed. Could you also help with getting the information out on BENTLEY's offering of a FREE Christmas meal for those who need a place to go on that special day. I'm sure it will be an excellent meal and a really good time for those able to attend.
