The Gaspe

I'm sure everyone has an idea how they'll spend the upcoming season on the road. Some have more time than others to do long trips and this year I can say that I'm one of them. I had originally planned on going to the mid-west or Newfoundland.  I've been to both and really love NF but after a few days of checking things out on the web I changed my mind and decided to go to the Gaspe in Quebec. That looks like one hell of a nice ride. Who among you has the time, or interest, in joining me. Let…See More

Don't know the NE Riders. I've only been riding for 2 years. Must admit I like the independence and meeting new people along the way. I did see some of the Nova Scotia pics.... I've been there many times just never on the bike. I went to PEI last year and rode around the island with the "Steeletto's". Great group of women that showed me some great roads.

Hi Jeff, I see you are from Mass. Do you hang around with that (New England Riders gang) they are very active. I see you are doing a Nova Scotia ride. A couple of friends and I did that at the end of last summer. You will have a great time, it is a beautiful area, and the people are very friendly. Sign on for the Maine Biker Newsletter (right side of page) there will be an article in there about Nova Scotia that contains links for pretty much everything you will want to know about the area. Also look on my home page. I wrote a little blog about our trip. Ride Safe Ride Often.

Hi Catherine....... I do like long trips. I've only been riding for 2 years and I've done several rides to Maine or thru Maine. I'll do what you suggest and meet some great people along the way. Do you have any interest in Cape Breton? Jeff

Thanks for the post. Based on your photos, looks like you have used your time riding to the fullest! I think we appreciate riding more as we get older, I am having the time of my life!! If you plan a trip to Maine this summer, post your trip plans and I am sure you will find several of us willing to let you stop in for a stretch break and some Maine hospitality or to join for a ride! After all, Maine IS the best place to ride!!

Does anyone have interest in a ride to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia this summer? It would require 5 or 6 days (maybe more depending) to get up to the Cabot Trail and enjoy the coastline up and back. Possibly take the ferry to Newfoundland!? Looking for one or two or more to take an adventure. Young/Old/Male/Female...are you the one that would like to go? Lets see if we can get a few hearty riders to take the ride rain or shine. It will be a true adventure. Jeff
