My name is Steve Zanardi and I am a cancer survivor. I understand the everyday perils that a cancer patient experiences. Never mind the bills, medicines, and doctor appointments......you are just thinking about survival. I was lucky to have a great wife who was with me throughout the whole process and was my rock. But not everyone has that luxury. When we were in Boston for 6 weeks last summer, my wife commented on how many people on my oncology floor seemed to be alone and had no visitors. I soon learned how important a phone call, email, or a get well card was to me! I hope this site develops into a support group for those who need it. Please feel free to contact me.
Hi Steve;
My name is Stephen Marois and I am one of the Trustees for THE GET ON THE BANDWAGON Charity. Taking the time to write this has enlightened me on how important it is to let people know their being thought of. I will be bringing these words you've expressed to the rest of the Board Members, so that perhaps we can begin sending people cards and thoughts to help them make it through an otherwise lonely day.Below is a picture of 3 of the Members. From left to right Kristen Walton, Stephen Marois, and Amanda Bernier
That's what we are here for my friend. Sometimes it's the little things in life that matter to most people. Like you said maybe just a visit from someone even a stranger will brighten someones day We are a small group as for now, and we probably will never get as big as some of these other groups, but that's OK too. Our goal is to help with the little things, such as gas cards to get you or your loved ones to the doctors, or maybe you can't afford to get your medicine we want to be able to help with that. You know the little things mean a lot. We have a website we just started if you would like to visit stop by my friend: www.getonthebandwagon.org
