" Maine Bikers Helping Maine Bikers "
I recently bought a 2011 Stryker. After only 450 miles, I noticed the belt is looser than it should be. Anyone else with a Stryker encounter the same problem? According to the manual, they want you to take it to a dealer for adjustment. Any thoughts?

The bikes belt will break in between 500 and 1000 miles and need to be adjusted and that first oil change is vital. Also, look at the belt alignment on the rear drive gear wheel. The belt should ride about in the middle with a little bit of teeth showing on either side. if not, then you may need to align the belt by adjusting the rear wheel. I do most of my own work but in this case I tool the bike to Woody's in Topsham to have the first service done. 100 bucks and they change the oil, adjust the belt and check the injectors for proper break in.
I bought mine down there too, just last month. Yeah, I like to do my own work too, but I think I'll take it in and let 'em do the first service. How do you like your Stryker so far?

Permalink Reply by Christopher Davis on May 4, 2012 at 11:09pm Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I love riding this bike! I found that having the 44 degree rake makes this bike feel more aggressive in turns. Its powerful enough, but I could see it with 1800CC engine like in the raider. Its just a blast to ride.
