Does anyone have any input as to places to take a bike for preseason inspection. Both good and bad experiences would be helpful. Thanks.

In the Bangor area I found Mainely Performance (Steve) in Bucksport to be an excellent mechanic. Pricey but thorough. Hard to have bike serviced when the weather gets nice, he becomes very busy. I have been dealing with Boyle's Motorcycle in Old Town. (Young Louie). He has serviced my sporty a few times and I have been very happy with the outcome. Actually he is doing gasket job on mine this upcoming weekend. His prices are reasonable and very easy to deal with. I am moving to Florida in June and want to have someone I trust do the job on my engine. I also know of George the Biker in Bangor. I personally only had a tire put on by him. Best friends of mine only deal with him he is also very good. Hope this helps!
These are Harley Mechanics, not sure if they will work on anything else?
personal i dont like reggies in leeds never had a very good luck there . woodys in topsam is great they have treated me great there two four wheelers &a bike get great sevice every time.
Good to know William. I, too, like Woody's but he doesn't like to work on Kawasaki's..
I must say that I have nothing but "good" to say about Paul Blouin Suzuki in Augusta. We bought our first used(2004) bike in the fall of 2007. The warranty had long-since expired, and of course I had reservations about any possible problems. I was assured by the salesman, the service department, and the owner himself(Paul Blouin) that I need not worry, they would "take care of me". I've brought the bike in 3-4 times for work, including installation of some aftermarket parts, some recall work(ecm), and the rear brake was sticking(so they tore it down and rebuilt/greased/reinstalled it). Each time I expected to pay for at least the labor, and each time at the checkout counter I was met with a grin and a "no charge....enjoy your bike"!! To this day, I will walk in after a 6-month hiatus(of course, I always have to check out the "new" bikes) and the salesman greets me with a "hi Jody!" every time. They truly want to earn and keep our business!

thought i'd tighten down the shift lever assembly on the bike, as it was loose. cranked on the bolt. SNAP! oh SH$)&@T! removed the whole shift assembly and brought it to the dealer, figuring it would cost me a hundred bucks or so. Parts manager said, "wait a minute while I speak the the mechanic". 2 minutes later, manager came back out. "Can you leave the parts overnight?...one of the mec...hanics has a thread tapping kit at his home...he will bring it in tomorrow and see what he can do". next day, manager called me. "come on in and pick up your part". the mechanic had brought in his own personal equipment, re-tapped the stripped assembly on his own time, provided a new replacement bolt, and said "have a nice ride". NO CHARGE! A motorcycle dealership that goes the extra mile to satisfy it's customers. PRICELESS. Paul Blouin Suzuki in Augusta.

You could go to TRI-Sports in Topsham, their parts guy is awesome and I have not heard anything negative about the service department, however I have been told by numerous people that the sales department and general customer service attitude boarders on apathy and disinterest. If all you need is routine service on Kawasaki they may be a good choice.

Yep, ...I go to my old buddy Bill French who owns "Bowdoin Machine Shop" in (where else...) Bowdoin.

He can fix ya right up with anything you need for your scoot. Tires, inspection, major repairs, rebuilds, etc. on pretty much anything with two wheels.

Tell 'm Chopper sent ya.

I have to agree with you on Blouins, we bought an ATV and a car from them and their service has always been great. I think they may have worked on my Boulevard when I owned that also.

I agree. Jason is great to deal with. He rebuilt my forks last season and he will be the only person working on my bike besides me from now on.

Buckshot Powersports in Weeks Mills is a small family run shop, offering excellent prices on tires, and VERY reasonable labor for installation. Beats the crap out of the local HD shop, North Country. . . the one place I would NEVER take a bike, for anything. Jason's number at Buckshot's is 207-445-2300.

Starting Line in Waterville, Dave can work on about anything.  I've taken everything from 70's era Hondas to my current 09 Street Glide to him.  Work is done right, and he can coax every last pony out of the bike.

i've had good luck with them.

Anyone know anything about Reggie's in Leeds? I like Woody's in Topsham, but because I drive a Kawasaki they don't really service Kawasaki's. All I wanted was a chain/sprocket/brake inspection. Seems to be bikes would be fairly standard in that arena, but apparently not...
