This is an update on H.R. 3199

House Committee passed bill to require EPA to seek independent scientific analysis on the effects of 15 percent ethanol

On February 7, 2012, the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology reported H.R. 3199 favorably, as amended, with a vote of 19 - 7.  The bill, introduced by Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to seek independent scientific analysis on the effects of 15 percent ethanol blend (E15) gasoline.

The bill now heads for consideration on the House floor.  No date has been scheduled.

Thank you Willie Campbell and anyone else who took the time to write the committee chairman about this bill. Now we need to send a request to our District Representative asking for their support of the bill when it comes up for consideration on the House floor.

That would be Chellie Pingree in District 1 or Mike Michaud in District 2. Their contact information can be accessed on the home page for National Rights here on MBN. If you don’t know which district you live in you can look at this map to figure it out.

Please take the time to contact your representative today and ask for their support of H.R. 3199.

Attached is the letter I sent to my representative. Use it whole or use it to construct a personalized letter of your own. Just fill in the name of your representative. Please take action to help us.
