Pretty damn stiff fines huh......I am kind of wondering though, if the public is so tired of our noise as MECALM says they are, then why is there only ONE sponsor on this bill??
with the fines as stiff as they are, I don't believe it will pass, BUT, don't count our chickens.....fight anyways! Contact your reps!
The hits just keep on coming !!!
I do wish that Diane Russell would stop wasting tax payer's money with her personal mission against motorcycle noise. I think if they knew this was JUST defeated a few months ago they might not appreciate her "work" too much.

I do not for one minute expect this will pass. It was just defeated, and a good defense against it already exists. Nut Mark is right. It's not safe to just assume anything.
That shod have been BUT Mark is right, not NUT Mark is right... LMAO.... Sorry Mark

I don't care who you are, that's FUNNY right there !!

Watch out folks . . . Jeff is calling people names now.

He has officially stooped to my level, lol.

"Nut Mark is right."

I think what you mean Jeff, is that this issue was voted down as a recommendation by the task force on LD 1675. It is true that this same issue has been before the Transportation committee in the past with very similar language, and results. The first attempt was in 2004 during the 121st legislature 2nd session. LD 458 sponsored by Lemione ( Old Orchard Beach) was voted unanimously 'ought not to pass' on Jan. 7, 2004. The second attempt was in 2009 during the 124th legislature 1st session with LD 920 sponsored by, guess who, Russell (Portland). It too was killed in committee by a unanimous 'ought not to pass' on May 7, 2009.

Yes Josh, you are correct. That is what I meant.

Josh, you're lucky Jeff didn't whip out the old vocabulary on you!

Is there a generic form letter to be sending to our reps. I have sent a couple of letters, so far, and will send more. But I am concerned that I may not be using the style/form/protocol/idiom when writing to these legislators. If someone could send me the right link or paste up an example of what these letters should look like, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you!

There should be one soon, hang tight. Lot's to do behind the scenes!

No worries, no problem, no rush. Thank you for your efforts.

I just want to be using the right form when addressing the legislators. I will plagiarize the letter and make it look fresh.

Thanks again.
