Let's hear about all those bike projects you've got going on out in your garage...

I'm in the middle of building up a bobber, but I need to swap frames with the Red-Baron chopper, so the new Paughco frame gets a red paint job and I'll strip the other rigid frame and paint it satin black for the new bobber. I'm also doing a 3-step tank sealing job on the new gas tank for it; it'll be satin black also.

Tell us about the greasy, knuckle-bust'n bike projects you're working on...

This is the new 3.5 gallon Mustang tank I bought for the bobber from JP Cycles.

This is the rigid Paughco frame for the Red-Baron chopper.

This is a discussion I am really looking forward to seeing grow and have been hoping you would start something like this.

Any type of project I can afford is done on a no budget concept. Which basically means pre 1990's Japanese bikes.

Currently I am working on a 1977 CB550F Bobber. This was already started when I got it so most of what I have to do is the finishing up stuff. Cleaning up the welds, paint, etc.

The back of the frame was cut and rewelded to drop it quite low. But not like a typical hardtail. I will have to iclude some photos.

It originally came with a Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust but that only had about one inch of ground clearance so I swapped that for a 4 into 2. To make that work I had to relocate the kickstand.

I'll add pics soon to describe it more.
Here are some photos of the 1977 CB550F. You will notice the tail light is a little off center for the moment. The rear turn signals I hvae on it right now came off some dirt bike :)

Here is a closer look at how the swing arm was welded inplace.

Here are some recent photos of my bobber build. I'm enjoying this.

I just picked up a 1983 Honda Shadow 750 that I am going to strip to the frame, repaint, and rebuild into a bobber. This is just one of Three I am working on. I have a 1997 Honda Shadow VT600c that I have stripped down but need a frame for it, The original frame was hit by a snow plow and bent it. Looking for either a rigid frame or another VT600c frame. The last one I have is a 1983 Honda Shadow 500 and is stripped to the frame as well. Having no budget to work with, many parts are coming from Maine Cycle in Auburn.

RIDIN' STEEL's Bike is getting a new paint job. It is in the competent hands of Matt Young & Dave Williams out of Topsham, Maine.Matt Young is the Designer and Builder that contructed THE IRON HEARSE. Really difficult to drop it off at this time, after all there may be some ridin' weather left. I'm anxious to see the project underway and I'll be providing photos as soon as it begins. Who knows? maybe Matt & Dave will procrastinate a little and I'll be able to get on her again before it gets too cold or snows!
Oh Yeah! By the way, it's cool to be discussing something that is enjoyable for a change, instead of all the negative junk surrounding politics in and out of the Biker Community.
Well hello all' I a few years ago built a 1970 old school chopper out of a sohc 75o honda. It came out pretty neat one of a kind, then I had wiring trouble, so it was down for two years. I wasnt going the 3rd with no chopper ride. although I do have my daily ride a 1973 750 honda with a big bore kit in it (my baby) have pieces and parts from 36 years back. But back to the chop I had a guy fix it on may 14th on may 15th a beautfull sat, morning I am finnaly riding my chopper again headed for north agusta harley, well I made it 3 and 1/2 miles where a man pulled out of a parking lot right in front of me BANG!!!! So a broken pelvis and many many scrapes and bruises a month in the hospitol. BUT IM ALIVE!!! thank god I just got enough money to bring t he bike home and now I have a winter project to make the YLWJKT <------- license plate rise again I have pretty much all the pieces I need to put her back together on my low budget. So keep your eyes and ears open for the buzz off a bright yelow killer Bee . Craig P aka qtrhoss7 "Cowboy"
Every day, a few brews and a few more parts bolted on...

My newest project I just got today. 1983 HD XLX. Traded a couple of my Jap bikes

My current garage project is to squeegee the water off of the floor and try not to get frostbite.

I guess I could get busy on that beat to crap Honda CT70 I have.

But, I really wanted say how great it is to see you fellers' bikes and thanks for posting the pictures.

They all look great.

My next bike project is going to be replacing all of the tin on my '86 Softtail and have my Brother Bruce paint it either OD Green with US Army graphics or Candy Tangerine Pearl w/metalflake and red ghost flames. I also plan to rewire the handlebars and put the 18" apes on it. It's already been lowered 2 inches front and back, puts  out 93 horsepower to the rear wheel, 80 spoke front wheel, wider rear wheel, La Pera solo seat, Barnett clutches, and other goodies to make it fast. Here is what it looks like now:The Band=Aid covers a rock ding that happened on the way to the Litchfield Car Show.
1985 Kawasaki Eliminator ZL 900 - all original with around 12k miles. Doing a basic restoration and gonna bring it to Daytona this year.
